Runner Terms and Conditions

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

THIS DOCUMENT IS AN ELECTRONIC RECORD IN TERMS OF THE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ACT, 2000 AND THE APPLICABLE RULES MADE THEREUNDER. IT DOES NOT REQUIRE ANY PHYSICAL OR DIGITAL SIGNATURES. YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THIS AGREEMENT BY CLICKING ON THE 'I ACCEPT' BUTTON OR BY CONTINUING TO USE OUR PLATFORM SHALL BE DEEMED TO BE YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

1. DEFINITIONS AND INTERPRETATION

  • "Zumy" refers to the service platform operated by Aalpha Information Systems India Pvt Ltd.
  • "Platform" means the Zumy Runner mobile application and website.
  • "Delivery Partner" or "Runner" means you, an independent individual or entity registered on the Platform to provide delivery services.
  • "User" refers to individuals or businesses who use the Platform to request item pick-up and drop services.
  • "Delivery Task" means a specific delivery request assigned to and accepted by a Runner.

2. RUNNER ELIGIBILITY AND ONBOARDING

  1. To become a Runner, you must:
    • Be at least 18 years of age
    • Possess a valid government-issued ID
    • Have a valid driving license (if using a motorized vehicle)
    • Own or have access to a smartphone with internet connectivity
    • Have a registered bank account in India
    • Clear background verification process
  2. You must maintain all necessary permits and licenses required by local authorities.
  3. You must complete the mandatory training programs provided by Zumy.
  4. You must maintain the minimum rating threshold set by Zumy.

3. INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR STATUS

  1. You acknowledge that you are an independent contractor and not an employee of Zumy.
  2. This agreement does not create any employer-employee, partnership, joint venture, or agency relationship.
  3. You are responsible for:
    • Your own taxes and statutory compliances
    • Vehicle maintenance and operating costs
    • Insurance coverage
    • Compliance with labor laws and regulations
  4. You have the freedom to accept or reject delivery tasks.
  5. You may work with other delivery platforms.

4. RUNNER OBLIGATIONS

  1. Service Standards:
    • Maintain professional conduct and appearance
    • Follow safety protocols and traffic rules
    • Handle items with care and ensure secure packaging
    • Maintain cleanliness of delivery equipment
    • Follow contactless delivery protocols when requested
  2. Task Management:
    • Accept tasks only when available to complete them
    • Follow prescribed routes and delivery timelines
    • Update delivery status promptly on the Platform
    • Collect and handle payments responsibly
    • Obtain proof of delivery as required
  3. Prohibited Activities:
    • Subcontracting or delegating tasks to others
    • Sharing account credentials
    • Manipulating the Platform or its features
    • Engaging in fraudulent activities
    • Discriminating against users

5. EARNINGS AND PAYMENTS

  1. Earnings will be calculated based on:
    • Base delivery charges
    • Distance and time multipliers
    • Incentives and bonuses (if applicable)
    • Special event rates
  2. Payments will be processed weekly to your registered bank account.
  3. You are responsible for maintaining accurate payment information.
  4. Zumy may deduct applicable platform fees and taxes.

6. INSURANCE AND LIABILITY

  1. You must maintain appropriate insurance coverage:
    • Vehicle insurance (if applicable)
    • Personal accident insurance
    • Third-party liability insurance
  2. You are responsible for any accidents or incidents during delivery.
  3. You agree to indemnify Zumy against any claims arising from your actions.

7. TERMINATION

  1. Zumy may terminate your account for:
    • Repeated poor performance or low ratings
    • Violation of these terms
    • Fraudulent activities
    • Safety concerns
    • Extended periods of inactivity
  2. You may terminate your account with written notice.
  3. Upon termination, you must return any Zumy-provided equipment.

8. PRIVACY AND DATA PROTECTION

  1. You must maintain user privacy and data confidentiality.
  2. You consent to Zumy collecting and processing your data.
  3. Location tracking will be active during delivery hours.

9. DISPUTE RESOLUTION

All disputes shall be resolved through arbitration in Bengaluru, Karnataka, in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996.

10. AMENDMENTS

Zumy reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
